Job Description
The Procurement Lead will be responsible for leading the end-to-end procurement function for utility-scale EPC projects, including EHV/HV substations, transmission lines, and solar power projects. The role focuses on developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimising costs, ensuring timely material availability, and driving operational excellence across the supply chain.
The position requires close collaboration with Engineering, Projects, Planning, Finance, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful project execution while maintaining quality, compliance, and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Strategy & Execution
- Lead end-to-end procurement for EHV/HV substations, transmission lines, and utility-scale solar EPC projects.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality, delivery timelines, and working capital.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials aligned with project schedules.
- Drive continuous improvements in procurement processes and operational efficiency.

2. Supplier & Vendor Management
- Manage sourcing, techno-commercial evaluations, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract finalisation.
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with OEMs and key suppliers.
- Lead vendor development, performance evaluation, supplier diversification, and risk assessment.
- Ensure supplier capacity and competitive pricing to support business growth.

3. Commercial & Contract Management
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to maximise value and minimise procurement costs.
- Manage procurement contracts, claims, change orders, and contractual compliance.
- Identify cost-optimisation opportunities through value-engineering initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and governance standards.

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Ensure uninterrupted material availability to eliminate procurement-driven project delays.
- Optimise inventory levels, payment terms, logistics coordination, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor procurement performance and proactively address supply chain risks.
- Improve procurement planning to support efficient project execution.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Planning, Finance, and Commercial teams.
- Support project teams in resolving procurement-related challenges.
- Align procurement activities with project timelines, budgets, and business objectives.
- Drive effective communication across internal and external stakeholders.

6. Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
- Drive procurement digitalisation, MIS improvements, and data-driven decision-making.
- Establish best practices to enhance procurement efficiency and governance.
- Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15–20 years of experience in EPC procurement.
- Proven experience handling procurement for EHV/HV Substations (up to 765kV), Transmission, and Utility-Scale Solar EPC Projects.
- Strong experience managing procurement for large and complex EPC projects.
