Job Description
The Project Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling utility-scale solar EPC projects throughout the project lifecycle. The role focuses on developing project schedules, tracking engineering and construction progress, identifying risks, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time while meeting quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
The position requires close collaboration with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Management, Customers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of large-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain project schedules from Level 2 to Level 4 using MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Establish project baselines and regularly update schedules to reflect project progress.
- Plan project timelines, resource allocation, and activity sequencing.
- Monitor schedule performance and recommend corrective actions to minimise delays.

2. Project Monitoring & Coordination
- Track engineering design progress and coordinate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues.
- Monitor project execution, installation activities, and material availability.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Engineering, and Site teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Present project progress and performance updates during review meetings.

3. Risk & Performance Management
- Identify project risks, bottlenecks, and material constraints affecting project execution.
- Maintain and update project risk registers with appropriate mitigation plans.
- Monitor project KPIs related to schedule, cost, quality, and progress.
- Conduct lessons-learned sessions to improve future project planning.

4. Stakeholder & Contract Management
- Prepare project scope documentation and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Organise internal and external project review meetings.
- Support contractual and administrative project closure activities.
- Coordinate payment collections from customers and ensure timely vendor and subcontractor payments.

5. Quality & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards and safety procedures.
- Monitor implementation of HSE and quality plans throughout project execution.
- Coordinate resolution of final punch points and warranty claims.
- Support successful project handover and final acceptance.

6. Project Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare project schedules, reports, dashboards, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records and contractual documentation.
- Track project milestones and generate management reports.
- Ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in renewable energy or solar EPC projects.
- Proven experience planning and managing 100MW+ utility-scale solar EPC projects.
- Experience in project scheduling throughout the complete project execution lifecycle.
- PMP certification or equivalent is an added advantage.
