Job Description

The Project & Service Engineer – Audio Visual (AV) will be responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of professional Audio Visual systems at customer locations.

The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise in enterprise AV solutions, excellent troubleshooting capabilities, and a customer-focused approach. The position will involve close coordination with Project Managers, Service Managers, subcontractors, OEMs, and customers to ensure successful project delivery and reliable ongoing system support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution

• Install, configure, test, and commission professional AV systems at client locations.
• Configure displays, video conferencing systems, microphones, speakers, DSPs, and control systems.
• Conduct system testing, quality checks, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, and rack layouts.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, and customers to ensure timely project completion.
• Prepare project documentation, as-built drawings, and commissioning reports.

2. Service & Technical Support

• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and AV system-related issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) visits.
• Respond to service calls within defined SLA timelines.
• Maintain detailed service reports and obtain customer sign-offs.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or OEM support teams.

3. Customer Engagement

• Train end users on the operation and functionality of AV systems.
• Maintain professional and effective communication with customers.
• Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate technical support.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction throughout project execution and after-sales support.

4. AV System Configuration & Troubleshooting

• Work with enterprise meeting room and collaboration technologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.
• Support BYOD meeting room solutions and video conferencing systems.
• Work with AV equipment and platforms from leading OEMs.
• Troubleshoot signal flow, connectivity, display, audio, and control system issues.

5. Networking & IT Support

• Apply basic networking concepts while configuring and troubleshooting AV systems.
• Work with TCP/IP, VLAN, PoE, and network switching environments.
• Perform basic Windows and IT troubleshooting.
• Use appropriate testing equipment to diagnose AV system faults.

6. Project & Service Documentation

• Maintain accurate installation and commissioning documentation.
• Prepare service reports, project records, and customer sign-off documentation.
• Maintain as-built drawings and technical records.
• Ensure project and service activities are completed according to required quality and SLA standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in AV installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, or service.
• Experience in corporate AV projects is preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Bangalore and occasionally across South India.
• Valid two-wheeler or four-wheeler driving licence is preferred.
